As a writer and tutor-advocate for young children, I am drawn to celebrate active, “atypical” children facing challenges at home or in school. For many years, I was a middle school educator, seeking schools where all children were welcome in "regular" classrooms. Now that I am retired, I look forward to finishing my debut middle grade novel and then moving on to tell more stories about the characters who currently live in my imagination. I also look forward to the opportunity to introduce my characters personally to teachers and children in classroom
settings.

For several years I have divided my time between New Orleans, Louisiana and Brookfield, Vermont. Along with writing and tutoring, I love being outdoors, digging in my gardens and riding my bicycle.
